PIMCO® StocksPLUS® Total Return TRAKRSSM (PIMCO SPTR TRAKRS) are non-traditional futures contracts that seek to outperform the Standard & Poor's 500 Index® by combining passive equity index exposure with exposure to an actively managed total return fixed-income portfolio. TRAKRS or Total Return Asset Contractsseek to reduce many of the inefficiencies associated with traditionally managed investment vehicles. TRAKRS may also reduce potential tax consequences associated with traditionally managed investment vehicles, and may reduce costs associated with traditionally managed investment vehicles or managed futures portfolios that result from turnover in such managed portfolios. Similarly, because PIMCO SPTR TRAKRS are futures contracts rather than shares or other interests in an investment vehicle, PIMCO SPTR TRAKRS will not make taxable distributions to customers. TRAKRS (Total Return Asset Contracts) are offered by CME in collaboration with Merrill Lynch and Co., Inc. Maturing October 26, 2011.
