About CME E-mini Euro FX Futures
Following in the footsteps of the popular CME® E-mini® S&P 500® and CME E-mini NASDAQ-100® futures contracts, CME offers the CME E-mini Euro FX futures contract. The contract, designed to reflect changes in the U.S. dollar value of the Euro, is half the size of the CME Euro FX futures contract—62,500 euro—and trades on CME Globex®. CME E-mini Euro FX futures began trading on CME Globex in 1999. CME E-mini Euro FX futures provide financial institutions, investment managers, corporations and private investors with the tools to manage the risks associated with currency rate fluctuation and to take advantage of profit opportunities stemming from changes in currency rates. The contract’s size is 62,500 euro per contract. Trading occurs in $.0001 per euro increments, or $6.25 per euro increments. Calendar spreads may trade in $.00005 per contract, equaling $3.125 per contract. CME E-mini Euro FX futures contracts trade two months in the March quarterly cycle, March, June, September and December.
