There are a variety of ways to trade electronically on the CME Globex ^®. Even without access to a personal computer, traders can still execute orders electronically via a broker, who will place the CME Globex orders on your behalf. To place orders and receive market data directly, you can select from a variety of CME-certified trading applications.

These trading applications include CME-certified front-ends available from FCMs and Introducing Brokers (IBs), Independent Software Vendors (ISVs), and the proprietary CME applications CME Globex Trader ^® and CME EOS Trader. Before choosing a trading application, please make sure that your broker is able to support your choice.

CME Globex Trader Decommission
With the expansion of User-Defined Spreads functionality to all CME options products, CME Globex Trader will no longer provide access to options markets. The limitation of CME Globex Trader to futures markets, aging functionality and infrastructure, and the declining user base have led to the decision to decommission CME Globex Trader. Traders may replace CME Globex Trader with a third-party application, CME EOS Trader or CME Galax-C ^® handhelds to access CME Globex markets. CME anticipates CME Globex Trader will be decommissioned by the end of 2007. The decommission timeline for CME Globex Trader follows:

Developing a CME Globex Trading Application
To enable software vendors as well as customers to connect their own trading systems to CME Globex for executing orders and receiving market data, CME provides CME Globex software interfaces, as well as support and resources.
