This CME-developed application provides a real-time reference tool U.S. traders can use in the absence of traditional cash index quotes reflective of the current market environment. The MSCI EAFE and S&P Asia 50 Indexes are comprised of stocks listed in foreign markets. These markets are closed for the majority of the U.S. trading day. Hence, cash prices on these indexes are, in effect, stale for U.S.-based traders, as they do not yet reflect any economic event-related price movements that may occur during the U.S. trading day. CME indicative cash quotes use the actively traded futures markets on MSCI EAFE and S&P Asia 50 Indexes (which are open during U.S. trading hours) and the cash/futures relationship to calculate prices reflecting economic event-related changes while the foreign stock markets are closed.
